Ministerial and Health Ministry Meeting Continues in Snowstorm

News March 6, 2013

By Fred Hardinge, DrPH, RD, FAND, Associate Director of Health Ministries for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
Employees of the world headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church have been furloughed today because of a heavy snowstorm. In spite of this storm, the representatives of each of the 13 divisions of the church for Health Ministries and Ministerial Association continue to meet together to listen to presentations and participate in discussions leading to new strategies that will help lead the church to more effectively reach people through blending the gospel and health work.

Elder Ted Wilson, President of the General Conference, began the morning by sharing his vision for reaching people for Christ through the combination of gospel and health outreach. He passionately expressed his desire to see our two groups to work closely together in achieving God’s mission for the church.

Significant time is planned today for discussion of the challenges and opportunities in the church today, along with the opportunity to develop a strategy that will lead the church forward in this area for the coming years.
